Web development, domain and hosting

Having a web site has become very crucial for almost any business or companies to keep up with their competitors, may it be a small time setup or a big business tycoon, the company is rated and judged certainly by the kind of the web presence they have, so the bottom line is choosing the right web development firms.

Crucial factors, which will drive and keep the web site alive and functional for a long time and support its scalability as the company and operations grows.

1. Domain name - this is first and the key factor, driving force as far the brand goes. There are lots of cheap domain name providers, which are fly by night operators, they believe only in one time money from their customers and there is no guaranteed service in terms of renewing or making some DNS changes as and when required, so do not get into this trap for saving few dollars. Please note older domain names have great impact on search engines.

2. Hosting providers - this is second important factor, which will make sure 100% uptime and secure environment, small companies can look at having a virtual hosting and gradually upgrade it to dedicated hosting environment. OS (operating system) can be chosen based on service providers expertise like Php/MySQL or ASP/MsSql.
Timely backup, 24 by 7 customer support, good bandwidth, strong firewall to avoid physical access to your servers, I know I am getting a bit techie here, but this is something which cannot be neglected, especially when it is an ecommerce or service oriented website.

3. Choosing the web development company, oh man this is the toughest part, you should do a reference check with their existing clients, after sales service is the must, since once the traffic increases, chances of getting updates and maintenance done increases too, the development company should be within your city. Most of them get into trap by getting development done as one time cost and does not really get into an AMC(Annual Maintenance Contract). Dynamic websites where the level of interaction is too much requires constant tweak and updates.

More to come in coming days.... do let me know if this helps you in someway by dropping me a comment.

Blogs are getting popular with super stars

As Amitabh Bachchan started operating his blog, he is setting a new trend in the bollywood industry. I must say this super star is very particular about every thing he does in reel life or real life. He writes excellent post which gives a feel as if you are listening to him, I like to read his blog too.

Now we have another super star Aamir Khan getting busy with his Blog. It is a wonderful tool for both the stars and their respective fans, they can easily comment and get a feel of attention, also blog has transparency, which is enjoyed by the stars. They are directly connecting to their fans at large but too precise.

From a Marketing point of view their blogs can become a huge advertising selling opportunity for online marketing agencies and other direct marketing firms. I am sure these 2 blogs, Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan must be having millions of hits and page views, one can judge from the comments they receive on their postings.

web 2.0 is the way to go

web 2.0 as a term has become prominent topic on the internet. There are various definations to it for e.g. it is all about rich media integrated easily, gradient strokes, javascript and DHTML mixture and a lot more customised definations.

web 2.0 has come in a big way to the internet especially to the world wide web community in it’s own unique way.

I would say, it is a platform on the internet for web developers to showcase usability in a great way, sites like flickr, you tube and a lot more traffic oriented web sites are frequently using this a platform.

It has very rich and user friendly customer experience, wherein you cannot feel the pinch of the download delay time irrespective of the ISP connection one has.

web 2.0 allows more room for creativity and less number scrolls, like those smart looking forms, and the vertically hidden navigation like windows explorer.

web 2.0 is the way to go for new generation, business oriented websites, especially heavy traffic websites.
